CHPI Director David Rowland responds to the Paterson Inquiry report

On the day the Independent Inquiry into the Ian Patterson case published its findings, CHPI Director David Rowland appeared on ITV News to discuss our concerns that not enough is being done to address the systemic patient safety risks in private hospital treatment that were so tragically highlighted by this case.

David also set out his view that the inquiry's report represents a missed opportunity to fundamentally reform private healthcare in the UK and to tackle the systemic patient safety risks which lie at the heart of private hospital business model in articles for The Independent and in BMJ Opinion.

For the evidence CHPI submitted to the inquiry and related materials, please see our work on Patient Safety in Private Hospitals.
